morst's PITOWN 2008 (pt 2)
Having arrived safely in Pioneertown, and handing out the photo montages I made, the start of the official festivities rolled around soon enough. (After waiting about a year for the campout, how soon IS soon enough??)

The set started off with Jon Segel playing solo acoustic guitar and busting out some nice rarities including Turnaround, from his 1988 Pitch-A-Tent release, Storytelling. He then handed the guitar over to Victor who played a few of his own before bring Jon back, along with Kenny and Greg.

morst's PITOWN 2008 (pt 1)

Wednesday, Sept 10, 2008: Off to California for what has become my favorite annual ritual - The Cracker & Camper Van Beethoven campout in Pioneertown! Flew from Madison into Anaheim and was picked up at John Wayne field by Bethdalena, who took me over to Newport Beach, to the home of "The Host" - which would be Glenn. His beach house had been a bit of a raging bash as the site of my 2007 arrival, but when I rolled in for the 2008 fest, it was quite calm, as the early arrivals had already taken off for the desert. Guess we can fast forward over the rest of Wednesday, as it was very relaxing and I didn't take any photos once I arrived in California.

Thursday, Sept 11, 2008:
Bethdalena and I were ready to go pretty early, and the party was not in Newport Beach at that point, so we got going, and pretty soon. . .
Oh look, we're almost there! Cool!
Then we arrived. Looks like we got the right place. . .

 YEP! Definitely the right place!

As long as it's taken me to get this far, I'll call this part 1, and see if I can get the next parts rolling really soon. In the meantime, if you click on the photos, you can go to my Picasa photo album and see where I'm going with this!
